Hot pilates hiit
Why is everyone obsessed with Hot Pilates? Because it is the Ultimate Combo for Strength, Sweat, and Stamina
If you’re looking for a workout that fires up your metabolism, builds strength, and leaves you dripping in sweat (in the best way possible!), Hot Pilates HIIT might be your new favourite obsession (like it is mine!). This high-energy, low-impact workout blends the precision of Pilates with the intensity of high-intensity interval training (HIIT), all in a heated room. The result? A full-body burn that improves endurance, tones muscles, and boosts flexibility—all while torching calories.
What is Hot Pilates HIIT?
Hot Pilates HIIT is a fusion workout that combines:
• Pilates principles – Core engagement, controlled movements, and mindful breathing.
• HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) – Short bursts of all-out effort followed by brief recovery periods.
• Heat – The room is heated to around 35-37°C with added humidity, enhancing circulation and (some people believe) detoxification.
The Benefits of Hot Pilates HIIT
This powerhouse workout offers a range of benefits for your body and mind:
🔥 Increased Calorie Burn – The heat raises your heart rate and metabolism, helping you burn more calories in less time.
🔥 Stronger Core & Lean Muscles – Pilates-based movements target the deep core muscles, while HIIT builds strength and definition in your arms, legs, and glutes.
🔥 Improved Flexibility & Mobility – The warmth allows your muscles to stretch deeper, enhancing flexibility and reducing stiffness.
🔥 Enhanced Cardiovascular Endurance – The high-intensity intervals boost your stamina and lung capacity over time.
🔥 Detoxification – Some people believe that sweating in the heated environment helps flush out toxins (however, this is disputed by others),
🔥Glowing Skin – sweating helps open pores, allowing impurities to be released, and the sweat also moisturises your skin on it’s way out - leaving your skin radiant and refreshed. When I regularly practiced much more hot exercise than I do now, I always got compliments on my skin!
🔥 Low-Impact, High Results – Unlike traditional HIIT workouts, Hot Pilates HIIT is easier on the joints while still delivering maximum results.
What to Expect in a Class
A typical Hot Pilates HIIT class lasts around 45-60 minutes and follows roughly the following structure:
1 Warm-up – Gentle mobility exercises to prepare your muscles and joints.
2 HIIT Rounds – Short, intense bursts of movement (think mountain climbers, burpees, squats) followed by active recovery.
3 Pilates Core Work – Focus on deep core activation with planks, leg lifts, and controlled movements.
4 Stretch & Cool-down – A final stretch session to enhance flexibility and aid recovery.
Whilst this isn’t traditionally seen, Ii you are joining me then we will include a few minutes of relaxation at the end as usual as it is important for us to bring our nervous system back to calm before we return back out into the world! This is something that is always appreciated by clients in my other Pilates sessions - we live in such a fast paced world it is important to take a few minutes to breathe and reset.
Tips for Your First Class
• Hydrate before, during and after – The heat will make you sweat, so drink plenty of water. There is a myth that you shouldn’t drink during a hot Yoga or Pilates session, but studies have shown drinking before, during and after a session reduces likelihood of getting dehydrated hugely so hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
• Wear lightweight, moisture-wicking clothing – You’ll be sweating a lot, so dress accordingly.
• Listen to your body – The intensity and heat can be challenging, so take breaks as needed.
• Bring a towel and a good mat – A non-slip mat is key to maintaining grip during sweaty sessions.
